What is the meaning of ISF declaration?

The ISF declaration must be sent electronically to US Customs via the AMS or ABI system 24 hours prior to the shipment of the goods. In the case of ISF declarations, importers may appoint an overseas agent they trust to file on their behalf.

What is the difference between ISF and AMS?
As for the difference between ISF and AMS declarations, it is simply divided into: AMS refers to the 24-hour manifest system or the US Anti-Terrorist Manifest System. A customs declaration is mainly information in the bill of lading, which is controlled by the freight forwarder. ISF declarations are mainly entities in the supply chain, some information in the buyer, some information in the seller, and it is more difficult at the beginning stage to integrate these information effectively.
If the freight forwarder helps with the ISF declaration, the information must be collected at the time of booking. If the declaration is made by the importer himself, the seller must be contacted at the time of the declaration.
